"Light Years Ahead" or "Alok Borsho Durey" is the debut album of the pioneers of Bangla hip-hop, Stoic Bliss . The Bangladeshi-American hip hop band released this album in June 2006 from G-Series in both Jewel Case CD album and Cassette formats. Following huge popularity that the album garnered, it was followed with a paperback release to meet the demands. In fact,  Light Years Ahead sold well over 250,000 copies in the first 10 months, marking the very positive reception of hip-hop music in the Bangla music scene. It spawned timeless hits like "Abar Jigay ??" "Daak" is the debut album of popular pop rock/easy listening band "Yaatri" . It was released in 2006 from G-Series in both Paperback and Cassette format. In 2008 it was re-released as an extended paperback with no booklet. The album was a project mainly consisting of Rashed Uddin Ahmed Topu and Emran Khan . Topu wrote all the lyrics for the album while Emran did the keys and programming. Previously, this duo composed two mega hit songs, the first one called "Nupur" in 2004 for Tony Vincent Gomes ' band mixed album, "Shopnochura" and the second "Ekta Gopon Kotha" which was featured in Tony's 2nd compilation in the series, "Shopnochura 2" in 2005. "Bujhcho?!" is the debut and only album of Prayer Hall . It was released on November 14, 2006 from Bengal Music Company (BMC) ltd. Prayer Hall comprises of popular fusion artist Shayan Chowdhury Arnob , Punam , Kushal and Saad . The quartet actually met in India while they were students at Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan. The story of why they chose the name in particular was included in the album sleeves. They all met in this beautiful place in India, known as "Land". They went there at different times to rediscover themselves and were inspired to create music. In fact, they recorded most of the songs in a room there called "Prayer Hall". Hence, the band came to be known as that name. "Prottutponnnomotitto" is the sophomore album by popular folk fusion band Bangla . It was a tribute to Lalon Shai and features exclusively Lalon songs. It was released in 2006 from Ektaar Music. After having immense success from their first album, Kingkortobbobimurh , Bangla decided it to make an album dedicated completely to Lalon Shai and his teachings. During that time, Bangladesh was facing problems and pressure from various religious groups and there was an overall sense of misleading by extremists. It was evident, religion could have been used for worldly purposes and that made a lot a of people stray away from the real teachings with misunderstanding and misinterpretation. Bangla took up the time to do a retrospective analysis of select Lalon songs with a "discussion" on religious spirituality with Rob Fakir (Gopal) , a baul featured extensively throughout the album. "Ichchhe Ghuri" is the sophomore album of popular band of Bangladesh, Shironamhin . It was released on May 1, 2006 from G-Series, which had also re-released the bands debut album. As for the album, it has some experimental sounds, comapared to "Jahaji". The theme on this album was "Urban Crisis", touching upon Jahaji's approach. The purpose of this album was to familiarize the listeners into their signature sound as well as understand the lyrical messages and draw the images or characters with their own fantasy. This album introduced the listeners to great hits like, "Pakhi", "Cafeteria", "Shodesh", "Ichchhe Ghuri" etc. Banglalink, an emerging telecom at that time, sponsored the album for its intial release in 2006. "Hok Kolorob" is the sophomore album of renowned Bangladeshi fusion artist, Shayan Chowdhury Arnob . This album was released in August of 2006 from Bengal Music Company (BMC) ltd. After the massive success of his debut album, Chaina Bhabish, Arnob continued gaining a huge popularity among the youth with his second album. Producing evergreen hits like, "Tomar Jonno", "Hok Kolorob", "Bhalobasha Tar Por" and "Tor Jonno", Arnob's legacy had been cemented again in the Bangladeshi music scene.
