"GrooveTrap" is the debut self-titled album of funk band, GrooveTrap . It was released in 2008 from Rage Records in both Cassette and CD formats. Unlike the rock-dominated Bangladeshi Band Music scene in the 2000s, GrooveTrap was indeed a breath of fresh air with their signature mix of 65% funk, 25% acid jazz, 5% rock and 5% pop. The band is mainly a trio of musicians ( Saif Quadir , Simin Saifuddin and Jasper Al-Rashid ), with their friends performing as guest musicians, that formed in 2007. The band describes their musical orientation as " From the funky rhythms of heart stopping acid jazz, couple with your favorite dosage of soul, rock and pop, GrooveTrap is the dish you would want to have when, maybe, nothing goes your way. Melody is at the very heart of anything GrooveTrap does" . "Oprostut Juddho" is the debut album by Djuice D'Rockstars season 2 winner thrash metal band, Powersurge . It released a year after their win from G-Series in September of 2008 in paperback format. The album was quintessential in cementing Powersurge as a force to be reckoned with as well as a band that hailed from the underground, very much like the other established bands from the early 2000s underground scene. The entire album revolves around patriotism and revolt amidst pain and suffering. Raef Al Hasan Rafa (of Aurthohin &  Kral fame at that time), produced this album and he mentions in the album sleeves that he had been determined to produce the heaviest sounding album that Bangladesh has ever heard. "Doob" is the third studio album by the multi-talented Bangladeshi fusion artist, Shayan Chowdhury Arnob . It was released in April of 2008 from Bengal Music Company (BMC) ltd. This was a follow-up of his hit album, "Hok Kolorob" and featured his new music, rather than old remade songs during his Shantiniketan days. It featured great hits like, "Shopno Debe Doob", "Adhkhana", "Lukiye", "Chai" and "Rastay". Arnob continued to hold his legacy with the release of this album, which was greatly sponsored by Nokia during their operations in Bangladesh. In the album sleeves, Arnob mentions that this album was a work of 6 months, where he submerged himself in his musical works. It could be even interpreted as a diary of a challenging musical journey. Arnob also dedicated this album to his wife at that time, Sahana Bajpaie , and mentions that thanking her simply is pointless because she itself is part of his music. Sahan...

'Aushomapto 1' is Aurthohin 's 5th studio album released in 2008. The album was a huge hit considering the band's new lineup of Sumon, Kamal, Shishir and Rafa. Notable hits were the songs "Anmone", "Nikrishto", "Aushomapto", "Guti (The Finale)" and "Chaite Paro 2(008)". From these, "Chaite Paro 2(008)" was way too addictive just like its prequel "Chaite Paro" and "Guti (The Finale)" was the final composition in the band's taunt series of heavy metal songs named "Guti". After a full five year hiatus, Black came back with a bang in 2008. This time around their third studio album was purposefully named 'Abar' signifying Black's comeback to the music scenario with a new lineup. Jon, Jahan and Tony teamed up with new bassist Shagor to produce this alternative rock album which has more hints towards Grunge than Alternative Rock, mainly due to the absence of Tahsan as a vocalist for the band.
