"Ekhon Ami" is the 5th solo album by famous Bangladeshi artist Sumon , in which he collaborated with Anila Naz Chowdhury and Fuad Al-Muqtadir (hence the name, "Fuad feat. Sumon and Anila - Ekhon Ami" ). It was released in December 2007 from Agniveena (sister concern of G-Series). Previously in February 2007, Sumon had released his mega solo album "Boka Manushta (Sumon O Aurthohin 2)". Ekhon Ami featured more Latin, Jazz, Blues and Pop influences with remakes of his famous songs like "Shopnogulo Tomar Moto" (title track of his 2nd solo album released in 2001) and "Tomar Jonno" (from his 3rd solo album, Megher Deshe: A Tribute to John Denver , released in 2005, which in turn was a remake of John Denver's Annie's Song). Sumon revives the name 'Sumon O Aurthohin' for his 4th solo project. This time again collaborating with many musicians of that time (many of whom are from the UG scene). Dubbed, Boka Manushta, this is a very diverse release from Bassbaba - having Pop, Rock, Metal and what not. It was released in 2007 from G-Series. 'Megher Deshe' is Sumon's 3rd solo work, perhaps his most ambitious one. It is a tribute to John Denver. Sumon describes in the album sleeves about how he came to know about Denver, and how his songs inspired him to do a cover in Bangla. It seemed like a wild idea, but it worked. And soon with the help of 'Khaled Bhai' of G-Series and Iqbal Asif Jewel, he released it in 2005. He also collaborated with Nazia and Elita (of Raaga) for the female vocals. Sumon's 2nd solo album goes by the name 'Shopnogulo Tomar Moto'. This album consists mostly of mellow pop-esque songs that Sumon is known famously for. Released in 2001, this album is also a pinnacle in Sumon's solo career. He dedicates this to 'Rupok', the lyricist, who passed away untimely. 'Rupok' was also a close friend and lyricist of Artcell. Khaled 'Bassbaba' Sumon, is a legendary figure in Bangla music scene. Not only as a bassist, he's also famous for being a very good album co-ordinator. His 'Agontuk' series proves that. However, before this, when he was the bassist for Warfaze, he released his first solo album 'Sumon O Aurthohin' in 1997. It featured 18 musicians of 8 heavyweight bands of that time. In the track 'Aurthohin' (which would later serve as a name for his own band) he featured the then vocalist of Warfaze, Sunjoy and 8 of the most prominent guitarists who played a staggering collection of 27 different solos.
