Rockstrata is the pioneer of the heavy metal scene in Bangladesh. Although they intially went into hiatus after the release of their debut self-titled album, they have announced on their official facebook page that a 2nd album is to be released in 2013. This record however, as it was released in 1990, doesn't really have the sophistication of modern studio equipment. But the songs are definitely good enough. It's good to see old band's like this still working hard.

ভাই, এই এপিক জিনিস দেয়ার জন্য কিভাবে ধন্যবাদ দিব বুঝছি না। এরকম আরো অ্যালবামের কাভার চাই।
ReplyDeleteI own physical copies of the album arts posted here, so it's not a big deal, what I will request you is NOT to put any sort of WATERMARK you take away from this site. I may be uploading these but that doesn't make me owner of the artworks.
ReplyDeleteDon't know how I stumbled upon your site, but I was ecstatic when I did. Hats off to you, XTR! You did an excellent job putting all these together. I was extremely happy to see a website this good which is dedicated to Bangladeshi Heavy Metal genre music since its inception in sometime late 80's, and flourished in early 90's. So many memories growing up listening to Rockstrata, In Dhaka, Warfaze, Legend, Feelings, LRB, and list just goes on...
ReplyDeleteI had a collection of all the band cassettes of my own when I was a kid. But lost all of them when I left Bangladesh long time ago. But I still look for those CDs/cassettes every time I go to Bangladesh. Too bad CDs are dying in Bangladesh, they have become somewhat rare lately, specially the Sargam ones.
Keep up the good work! Long live Bangladeshi music!
Thank you so much for your kind words! It really means a lot to me. I also appreciate sharing your stories! It's for readers like you that I do what I do. Loving the support!
DeleteAnd yes, I am afraid as we dive deeper into the future, the CDs are now more or less obsolete and can hardly be found. My goal was to archive as much as I could of the music I grew up listening to. My collection is pretty much complete and I am slowly but surely archiving as it all, though I do cover only a generation of music.
Thank you again for stopping by! Sorry for the late reply but I just have a lot going on and this is more of a hobby! But do keep in touch on my Facebook page for BanglaCDCovers, I regularly post updates of bands over there.
