"Arnob & Friends Live: Songs from World Tour '08" is a unique live album by respected Bangladeshi fusion artist, Shayan Chowdhury Arnob. It was released a year later in August of 2009 from Bengal Music Company (BMC) ltd. This live album was a beautiful diary of many performances during the world tour he took with his friends and fellow artists - Andrew, Nazia, Resalat (Dhrubo) and Jibon, partnering with the non-profit, non-partisan volunteer organization called "Drishtipat". This world tour was hosted by various chapters of the Dristipat in the USA, the UK and Canada throughout 2008, and the proceeds from these concerts were dedicated toward Dristipat's Child Domestic Workers Education project and other development projects in Bangladesh. In the album sleeves, this world tour was deemed as, "The Unheard Voices Tour". The live album is a unique mix of songs: some composed by Arnob, some traditional folk songs, and contemporary modern songs revisited and re-crafted. The album was also sponsored by HSBC as a part of their "Different points of value" global brand campaign because they wanted to incorporate the most universal language, music, touching upon the belief that difference and diversity of style and genre in music is inevitable and it holds a special value for the artist and listeners.
Dristipat (tagline: hear, speak out and help) has nine active chapters composed of students and young professionals in Bangladesh through action-oriented projects at the time of release of this album. The organization was founded in 2001, with a mission that embodies the continuing struggle to secure human rights, freedom of speech, freedom from violence , and freedom from cyclical poverty by initiating and sponsoring a wide range of initiatives all capitalizing on the potential, spirit and dignity of the Bangladeshi people.
The album was mixed and mastered by Shuvo at Bengal Music Studio.
